How to Connect minesales.ai MCP to Your Sales Workflow: CRM, Outreach and Account Planning
ยท AI for Sales
Practical workflows for using the minesales.ai MCP server and API in daily sales work, including list building, call prep, outreach drafting, CRM updates and account planning, with example prompts.
Once minesales.ai is connected to Claude through MCP, you can use researched opportunities, company accounts and decision makers inside the AI assistant you already work in. The most useful workflows are building target lists, preparing for calls, drafting outreach, planning accounts and keeping your CRM up to date. Each workflow below includes example prompts you can copy.
If you have not connected it yet, start with How to Use MCP to Bring Sales Research into Claude and ChatGPT.
Before you start
You need:
- An active minesales.ai paid plan
- An API key from Settings, then API (see API and MCP)
- An MCP client such as Claude Desktop or Claude Code, set up with the minesales.ai server
- For My Business workflows, a business profile with researched accounts
Every tool call that returns records spends credits per 10 records, so ask for what you need.
Workflow 1: Build a target account list
Use the public search tools to find companies with opportunities that fit what you sell.
Example prompts:
- "Find 20 opportunities in banking or financial services in India related to data platforms. Group them by company account."
- "List company accounts in manufacturing in Germany that have opportunities for an IT services firm."
- "Which industries have the most opportunities related to cloud cost reduction? Show the top 10 accounts."
Tip: search filters match exact words, so give the assistant synonyms, for example "logistics, supply chain, freight".
Next step: pick the best accounts and unlock them in the app, or add them to your Research Queue to research them against your own profile.
Workflow 2: Prepare for a sales call
Use the per-account tools for an account you unlocked or one in your own pipeline.
Example prompts:
- "For this company account, list the decision makers and the pain point each one owns."
- "Summarise all opportunities for this account in a table: opportunity, pain point, value justification, owner."
- "Give me three discovery questions for the CFO based on this account's opportunities."
Result: a one-page brief in a few minutes, built from the account's actual research.
Workflow 3: Draft personalised outreach
Example prompts:
- "Draft a short first email to the Head of Operations at this account. Lead with the most relevant pain point. No more than 90 words. No buzzwords."
- "Write a LinkedIn connection note to the CIO that mentions the system migration opportunity."
- "Write a three-step email sequence for the finance decision maker, each with a different pain point."
Tip: always review and edit before sending. Check names and facts against the account in minesales.ai.
Workflow 4: Plan an account
For strategic accounts, use the assistant to turn research into an account plan.
Example prompt:
"Build an account plan for this company. Include: a short company snapshot, the top pain points, the buying committee mapped to each pain point, the opportunities ranked by value, a first 30-day action plan, and the risks."
Combine the output with what you know from past conversations. For a method you can apply by hand, see How to Do B2B Account Research and How to Identify Decision Makers and Buying Committees.
Workflow 5: Review your own pipeline
The search_my_ tools read opportunities and accounts from business profiles you own.
Example prompts:
- "Show my opportunities that mention compliance or regulation, newest first."
- "Which of my company accounts have the most opportunities? List the top 10."
- "For my account at this company, list all opportunities and the decision makers."
This is useful for weekly pipeline reviews and for deciding where to focus. See How to Prioritise Target Accounts for a scoring model the assistant can apply.
Workflow 6: Keep your CRM up to date
There are two ways to get minesales.ai data into a CRM:
- Through the assistant. If your CRM also has an MCP server, an assistant like Claude can read from minesales.ai and write to the CRM in one conversation, for example "Add these 10 accounts and their top opportunity to the CRM as new leads." Check the CRM's own permissions and review changes before you confirm them.
- Through the API. For a scheduled sync, call the minesales.ai REST APIs from your own integration with the same API key. The Documentation page in Settings, then API, lists every endpoint, its parameters and responses. The Usage page shows each request and the credits charged.
Workflow 7: Build your own sales agent
Developers can pass the minesales.ai MCP server to the Claude Messages API or to OpenAI's Responses API. This lets you build internal tools, such as a Slack bot that answers "what should I know before my call with this company?" or a nightly job that drafts briefs for tomorrow's meetings.
Good habits
- Start small. Ask for 10 to 20 records, then refine.
- Name the account. Ask the assistant to include the company account id, so you can open it in minesales.ai.
- Review before sending. AI drafts are a starting point.
- Watch usage. The Usage page in Settings, then API, shows each request and its cost.
- Protect your key. Keep it in an environment variable, never in shared documents, and revoke it if it leaks.
Key takeaways
- MCP puts minesales.ai research inside the AI assistant you already use.
- The main workflows are list building, call prep, outreach, account planning, pipeline review and CRM updates.
- Public tools cover all researched companies;
search_my_tools cover your own business profiles. - Use the REST API for scheduled CRM syncs and the MCP server for interactive work.
Frequently asked questions
Which AI tools can use the minesales.ai MCP server?
Claude Desktop, Claude Code, the Claude Messages API and OpenAI's Responses API. Any client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP with a header for the API key should work.
Can I connect minesales.ai to Salesforce or HubSpot?
Yes, either through an assistant that has both the minesales.ai MCP server and your CRM's MCP server connected, or by building a sync with the minesales.ai REST API.
How much does each MCP request cost?
Requests are billed per 10 records returned, rounded up. Requests that return nothing, or fail, are free. See Credits and plans for the current price.
Why can I not see decision makers for some accounts?
For accounts from all researched companies, decision makers and full opportunity lists need the account to be unlocked in the app first. Accounts in your own business profiles do not need an unlock.
Can the MCP server change my data?
No. The minesales.ai MCP server is read-only.
