What Demand Analytics Shows About What B2B Buyers Need Right Now

ยท Demand Analytics

How minesales.ai Demand Analytics turns researched company pain points into clear insight on what B2B buyers need, which teams and industries need it, and where to sell first.

Demand Analytics shows what B2B buyers need by counting the real problems found in researched companies. Instead of guessing from surveys or search trends, it groups pain points from company research by problem type, buying theme, buyer function and industry. You can see which problems are most common, which teams own them, which industries feel them most, and which industry and function pairs are the best places to start selling.

Why demand data from research is different

Most market data tells you what people search for or what they say in surveys. That is useful, but it is one step removed from buying. Demand Analytics starts from something closer to a purchase: specific problems found in specific companies, each one linked to a team that owns it and to an opportunity someone could sell.

Insight 1: Which problems are most common

Problems are sorted into nine groups:

GroupExamples of buying themes
OperationsCapacity and throughput, asset reliability and maintenance, quality and process control
Supply ChainLogistics and freight, inventory and warehousing, procurement and spend
PeopleTalent acquisition, staff retention and engagement, skills and training
RiskCybersecurity and access, regulatory, licensing and tax, audit and internal controls
MoneyCost reduction, cash flow and working capital, profitability and margins
TechnologyLegacy and core systems, data and analytics, AI and automation, cloud and infrastructure
GrowthDemand generation and pipeline, new markets and expansion, product and innovation
CustomersCustomer experience, retention and churn, onboarding and adoption
Change ManagementM&A integration, operating model and footprint, restructuring and turnaround

Seeing which groups are biggest in your industry or country tells you which problems to lead with in your messaging.

Insight 2: Who owns the problems

The Buyer function x problem heatmap shows which teams have which kinds of problems. Darker cells mean more companies. This tells you who to target. For example, if Technology problems are concentrated in IT but Money problems sit in Finance and Operations, a cost-reduction offer may need to reach two different buyers.

Insight 3: Which industries need it most

The Industry x problem heatmap does the same by account industry. Use it to find industries where your strongest offer matches the most common problems, and industries you may be overlooking.

Insight 4: Where to sell first

Where to sell first ranks industry and buyer function pairs by how many companies have problems there, then by how many problems each company has. It is the shortest path from data to a go-to-market decision. Read Where to Sell First: Using Industry and Buyer Function Heatmaps for how to use it.

Insight 5: Which problems come together

Problem bundles show pairs of problem groups that often appear together in the same opportunity, such as Technology and Money. If two kinds of problems tend to come together, you can package your offer around both, or use one as an opening to discuss the other. See Problem Groups, Buying Themes and Problem Bundles.

Filter the data to your market

At the top of the page:

  • All opportunities or My Business: all researched companies, or only your own pipeline.
  • Industry and Country: narrow every panel at once. Remove a filter with the x on its chip.

With My Business, Demand Analytics shows the problems in your own pipeline, plus a status view of your research.

See the companies behind a number

Many numbers are clickable. On a paid plan, clicking a pain point, theme, group, bundle or heatmap cell opens a full-screen list of the opportunities behind it. From there you can unlock an account and open its details. See See the opportunities.

How the data is kept fair and private

  • Counts come only from companies whose research is public on minesales.ai, or from your own pipeline in My Business.
  • No company names, people, deal values or seller details are shown in the analytics.
  • Grouped rows need at least three distinct companies before they appear.

  • Marketing teams deciding which problems to write about and which industries to target
  • Account executives checking which problems to raise with a given industry or function
  • Product teams seeing which problems come up most in their target market
